Canadine Family {Medicine Hat Family Photographer}

Posted on November 5, 2010

I met this family by chance last year, close to Christmas, while in line for photos with Santa at the Medicine Hat Mall!  I can’t remember exactly what happened, but I believe that the only camera they had with them, was a cell phone, haha!  So to save them the trouble of having to come back a brave the line for a second time in the same season, I took some photos of the kids with the jolly ‘ol man, then emailed them to the family!  I’m a strong believer in Karma, so was truly excited when they contacted me to take their family photos this Fall.  We had a gorgeous day, and such a beautiful location (by the duck pond between the Cultural Center and the Medicine Hat College).  They were a really fun family to be around and I enjoyed every minute of it!  Thankyou Canadine Family for a wonderful opportunity!

P.S.  Maybe we’ll see you at the “North Pole” again this winter ;)

Anniversary Photos by the River {Medicine Hat Photographer}

Posted on November 3, 2010

You might remember this awesome couple from a session I posted last November to celebrate their wedding!  We found a beautiful variety of locations in Elkwater last year, but this time around, to celebrate their One Year Anniversary, we stayed a little closer to home.  These photos were taken near the Torres’ new home, along the river in Medicine Hat where they often walk their adorable dogs!  We had such a beautiful evening and caught the prettiest light… LOVED this session so much and can’t wait until their 2nd Anniversary ;)   Congratulations guys!

Gorgeous Fall Grad Session {Bow Island Graduation Photographer}

Posted on November 3, 2010

I’m so excited that Hailey waited until the Fall to have her 2010 Graduation Portraits taken!  The colours, the dress and the Graduate herself, made the results of this session some of my favorites… maybe ever.  Isn’t she stunning?  I can’t wait to do more photos with her in the future!  Good luck with your future Hailey!

She’s A Jewel! {Bow Island/Medicine Hat Newborn Photographer}

Posted on October 29, 2010

Do you remember seeing the beautiful Mommy and Daddy to Be from this session?  Well, I was so excited to finally meet the sweet baby girl that they were waiting for all that time!  She was SO relaxed and easy going, letting me wiggle her around, swing her into a snuggly slumber and take photos until my heart was content.  Mom was also relaxed and easy going, so it’s no wonder her little girl was a superstar during our photo session ;) .  Thank you Ellen and Todd for giving me the honor of preserving your memories of Jewel as a newborn… she really is precious.

Frog Races and Fuzzy Friends

Posted on October 29, 2010

So I’ve taken a LONG time deciding whether or not I should be using this blog to post my personal photos, experiences etc… and during this decision period, I haven’t been posting any.  It definitely takes a lot of extra time, but to be honest… I really miss doing it and celebrating the “little things” in our everyday lives that may be forgotten or overlooked in the long run.

Therefore… I’m going to start once again.

 This particular set of pictures brings back so many memories for me… not only of the fun day we had racing frogs and catching caterpillars with my daughter and Mom, but memories of doing the very same things with my family years ago when my sister and I were kids too!  We would catch as many frogs as we could find, then line them up and race them to see whose would be the fastest!  So silly and fun… and I’m so glad that my girl gets to have the same experiences that we will remember forever.

Any Roughrider Fans Out There?! {Medicine Hat Wedding Photographer}

Posted on October 28, 2010

So… on pretty short notice, I agreed to second shoot an awesome wedding with Kristen in Medicine Hat back in September (if you check out her link, you’ll see her sneak peek from the same wedding… and you might see a few of my shots from the day there too :) ).  The ceremony and reception were held at Higdon Hall, and the decor that this couple arranged was just the coolest… from the drapes, lanterns, the Bride’s prized truck collection adorning the tables to the “buffet candy table” all in Roughrider green… it looked amazing in there!  Despite the extreme wind we had to venture out in for portraits, everything turned out really well and it was a wonderful day.  Thanks to Kristen for inviting me along, and thanks to Kristin and Derek, and their families for really making us feel welcome and sharing this awesome day with us!  Cheers!

Funky Kids Chillin’ Downtown {Medicine Hat Family Photographer}

Posted on October 25, 2010

I have had the pleasure of getting to know these three kids and their parents… and dog Lilo :) … over the last few years!  It all began with a fun photo session for the whole family…  I don’t remember ever laughing so much and so hard during a session… it felt as if I’d known them for years.  Then, when the dad of the house needed some headshots taken for his new  business, I had stitches from laughter once again!  They are a great family all around… easy going, fun and full of life!

So when they called and asked for a fun, funky session for the kids only this time… I was IN!  We had a great time wandering around downtown Medicine Hat getting some unique urban shots with these three gorgeous young people.  They had the sweet looks and poses that were easy to work with… and I completely loved their hats too!  Thanks so much for the awesome experience and support you guys… can’t wait to hang out with your family again in the future!

A Special Anniversary Session {Bow Island Family Photographer}

Posted on October 25, 2010

The Klein Family asked me to take family photos to help celebrate a special anniversary back in September!  It was such an honor, and a really easy session… how cute is their grandson?!  We battled some terrible wind, but found a few great locations at Centennial Park in Bow Island for these shots.  I heard that they had quite the celebration with family and friends at the park later that same evening… so I hope these photos were just the icing on the cake!  Congratulations on your anniversary once again, and thank you.

Family of Three {Medicine Hat Family Photographer}

Posted on October 24, 2010

I have known this little family forever… before they were a family in fact!  We somewhat “grew up” together, I’ve taught with Mary at a couple of different schools (including our present one…) and our daughters quite enjoy playing together as well.  We have a lot of history, funny stories and memories… fun times!

I have had the pleasure of photographing them three times now… and I think this session turned out to be my favorite!  We took these in their backyard, and the colours were amazing.  Their little girl was so easy going and gave me some great photo opportunities… catching her smiles and giggles around every corner… love it!  Can’t wait until next years’ session!

Unique Downtown Medicine Hat Wedding {Medicine Hat Wedding Photographer}

Posted on September 18, 2010

When Marie contacted me well before her and Graham’s wedding, and told me all the details that they had planned… I was so excited to take their wedding photos!  The park, the unique use of peacock feathers in decor and floral arrangements, the sand ceremony, the music… everything was incredible.  Riverside Veteran’s Memorial Park in Medicine Hat, the site of the wedding ceremony itself was perfect… and little did I know that Graham’s Mom would have had SO MANY beautiful baskets of flowers brought in and arranged around the fountain, especially for them.  It was absolutely stunning!  They also had lots of personal touches in the ceremony, including a wonderful minister, beautiful music supplied by a close friend, and of course their three dogs… dressed appropriately for the occasion!  Too cute.  Once the ceremony was finished, the bride and groom, along with their awesome wedding party, spent a couple of hours with me in downtown Medicine Hat for the wedding portraits.  They were such good sports in the extreme heat that afternoon, and we had a great time getting some awesome photos and making memories for Marie and Graham.  I am so happy with the way these photos tell the story of the entire wedding day, and sincerely wish the new Mr. and Mrs. Hart the best of luck for a wonderful new life together!  It was a beautiful day guys, and thank you for letting me be part of it.
